Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
Mr. Hill was born on February 9, 1932 in Nacogdoches to the late Virgil W. and Mary Lou Hardy Hill. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korea.
He married the love of his life, Mary Frances Hitt. He was an active member of the Noonday United Methodist Church and a Sunday school teacher.
He worked for Associates Financial Services for many years, Universal Bank & Trust in Dallas, Texas Bank and Trust in Longview, and retired from First Federal Savings and Loan in Longview as a lending officer. Mr. Hill was a charter member of AMBUC’s of Longview, Meals on Wheels of Longview and Noonday for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Frances Hill, of Tyler; granddaughter, Uyen Tran Parsons and husband, Colby, of Denton; Uyen’s parents, Cuong and Thuy Tran, of Longview; nieces, Kay Welch and husband, Ronnie, of Chandler and Teddie Sue Gilley and husband, Jim of Wills Point; nephews, Steve King and wife, Debbie of Overland Park, Kansas; Glen Williams and wife, Janet of Whitehouse and Scott King and wife, Terrie of Tyler. Mr. Hill is also survived by nine great-nieces and great-nephews and three great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
There will be a visitation on Friday, May 2, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
