Barbara Jo Ann Rodgers

Graveside services for Barbara Jo Ann (Harter) Rodgers will be held 11:30 am Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Wingate Cemetery in Wingate,Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Barbara, age 83, of Tyler, Texas passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022. She was born February 8, 1939 in Winters to Troy and Mae Dean Collins Harter. She worked as a legal secretary for her career. She was very active in church wherever they lived, playing piano, and teaching sunday-school alongside her husband. They taught everyone from the youth all the way to young adults. Barbara has been a caregiver to many relatives and always put others first. She was always able to see the good in everyone, and was able to touch many lives over the years. Bobbie was a great cook, and loved having others over to take part in her food and fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Denice Smith.

Barbara was survived by her loving family, including her husband of 65 years, Dennis Rodgers; son, Dean Rodgers and wife Rose; her and Dennis’ very special son-in-law Randy Smith; grandchildren, Brad Smith and his wife Callie, Stephen Rodgers and his wife Sabrina, Judd Smith and his wife Allison, Sabrina Miller, Breann Rodgers, Tommy Miller and Colton Rodgers; five great grandchildren and a brother, Gary Harter and his wife Birdie.
