Barbara "Bobbie" (Newman) Cooper, 90, of Tyler, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at her home. Bobbie, a homemaker, was born on Dec. 6, 1925 to William Franklin and Tommie (Allen) Newman in Electra, TX. She grew up and attended school in Mt. Pleasant. Following high school she moved to Tyler to attend Tyler Commercial College. During this time, she met, and later married, Willie Cooper in Tyler in October of 1948. They made their home in Tyler.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Cooper of Tyler; son, Duane Cooper of Tyler; daughter, Lynn McCabe, and her husband, David of New London, TX; grandsons, Jonah Holt of Austin, C.J. McCabe and Cody McCabe of New London.
She was very devoted to her church, The First Assembly of God in Tyler and had many friends there. She was known for her loving compassion and forgiving nature.
Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler.
