Services for Annie Maude “Blevins” Steed, 93, of Whitehouse are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at The First Baptist Church Whitehouse with Pastor Charles Johnson and Dr. Ray Davis officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery in Gilmer under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler.
She passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 in Whitehouse.
Annie was born on February 6, 1923 in Nubbin Hill, Arkansas to the late Franklin Stuart and Maude Alice Renfro Blevins.
Annie married the love of her life, Gurvis Steed on December 7, 1946. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful Christian example to all.
Annie was a childhood member of Missionary Grove Baptist Church, Nubbin Hill Arkansas, a longtime member of Rosewood Baptist Church and longtime member of First Baptist Church in Whitehouse and the Hope Sunday School class.
Annie is survived by her children: Phillip B. Steed and wife, Melinda of San Marcos; Alice A. McNeal and husband, David of Covington, Louisiana; Pat S. Loyd of Whitehouse; Carolyn J. Nanni and husband Tom of Whitehouse; Jeff Steed and wife, Lori of Canyon Lake; Bobbie N. Williams and husband, Donny of Lindale; and Sandy R. Weller of Whitehouse.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Kerrie McNeal; Amy Ettinger; Joshua LaGrone; J. Adam LaGrone and wife, Holly; Chad Steed and wife, Mandy; E. Bailey Steed; Shelley Dunn; Katelyn Becze and husband, Sam; Kellyn Williams; Karalyn Williams; Cheyenne M. Weller; and 11 great-grandchildren: Tyler Steed; Aubrey Steed; Connor Ettinger; Lillyan Faith Steed; Will Ettinger; Liam Becze; Cash LaGrone; Lauren LaGrone; Nella Dunn; Colton Steed; Jackson LaGrone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gurvis E. Steed and 7 brothers and sisters: Eva Crider; Earnest Blevins; Clyde Blevins; Connie Blevins; Irene Cornelius; Dexter Blevins and Annie’s infant twin brother.
Pallbearers will be Dave McNeal, Thomas Nanni, Donny Williams, Josh LaGrone, Adam LaGrone, Bailey Steed and Chad Steed.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 at Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler.
