The family will receive friends Friday, October 20, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Celebration of life funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memory Hill Gardens following the service. Bro. She was preceded in death by her parents Vaudie and Frank Potts. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Bobby Griffin, sons Scott Griffin (Zora) and Jason Griffin (Donna), granddaughters Kathleen Watkins and Marley Griffin, brother Charles Potts, Tuscaloosa, sister Charlotte Potts, Atlanta, and brother-in-law Clyde Tullos of Ozark. In addition are her nieces; Pamela Potts, Heather Coleman (Billy), Julie Minder, Jonie Varner, and Cindy Gibson Meade; her nephews John and Sydney Tullos, Ed Gibson, Chuck Potts, Tuscaloosa and Matthew Alsup (Amy), great-nephews Chase and Brady Coleman of Atlanta, great-nieces Presley and Ryleigh Alsup of Memphis, and her best friend for 54 years Patsy Bruce.
Virginia worked at the University of Alabama for over 40 years as an Administrative Assistant, the last department being Computer Science. She loved traveling, gardening, reading, her family and friends and all sports of the Alabama Crimson Tide, especially football. She was also generous with her time, offering to help in any way to those who needed her.
A special thank you to her neighbors and the ladies of Heatherwood Gardens. Donations can be made in her name to Hospice of West Alabama.
