A visitation for Butch will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Gilgal Baptist Church, 3000 Bear Creek Rd, Duncanville, AL 35456, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Travis was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Skelton; Father and Mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Harris; He is survived by his Wife, Gayle H. Skelton of Cottondale, AL.; Daughters, Amanda "Mandi" Skelton of Cottondale, AL.; Sons, Dusty Skelton (Rachael), Northport, AL; Brothers, Ronald "Buster" Skelton (Brenda) of Cottondale, AL and William "Bill" Skelton of Vance, AL.; Grandchildren, Will, Hudson, and Ridge Skelton of Northport, AL.
Butch was a devoted husband, father and PaPa. He retired from Alabama Power Company after over 30 years. He was a member of the Alabama National Guard. Butch was a member of Gilgal Baptist Church. He was also an active member of Alasippi Rifles and SCV Camp. He was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors.
Most importantly, he loved spending time with his three grandsons and watching them play ball. In his spare time, you would find Butch working in his garden or woodworking shop.
He will be greatly missed by his grandsons, kids, and wife of which he was married to for nearly 50 years.
Pallbearers will be Will Skelton, Hudson Skelton, Robbie Logan, Dr. Larry Skelton, Sean Johnson, Rick Price, and Joey Denson.
Honorary pallbearers are Gilgal Baptist Church, Alasippi Rifles and SCV Camp, Alabama Power Company WDOC , Dr. Larry Skelton-MD Family Medicine Office, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Wayne Skelton, Rose Pope and family, Dan Hall, and James Mitchell.
