Mark Andrew Ficken, age 65, passed away July 4, 2024 at his home in Tuscaloosa. A Memorial Service for Mark will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at Canterbury Chapel Episcopal Church with The Reverend Marc Burnette officiating.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Roland Peter Ficken.
He is survived by his brother, Eric Timothy Ficken and wife, Sheila Tynan Ficken, of Woodstock, Ga.; nephews, Timothy Michael Ficken of Chicago,Ill. and Matthew Allen Ficken of Charlotte, N.C.; and his mother, Virgene Muriel Ficken of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Mark was a loving son, brother and uncle, and he was a great friend to so many. Mark was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and an avid fan of the Crimson Tide. He loved tailgating at Alabama football games with his brother’s family, particularly when his nephews, Timothy and Matthew, were students at the University of Alabama. Mark had spent the last few years dedicated to the care of his mother.
