Krista Michelle Carver

Krista Michelle Carver, age 46, of Nashville, Tenn., died May 1, 2012, at home following a long illness. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Vial Fontenot officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Martin L. and Ann Willard Carver and Walter Thrasher and Nola Lowery Thrasher.

Survivors include her parents, Joan Thrasher Carver and W. Lacon and Susie T. Carver, all of Tuscaloosa; her sisters, Karen Carver Mushrush (Michael) of Columbus, Ohio and Kim Carver Palm of Tuscaloosa; her niece, Joan Margaret Hodge of Columbus, Ohio; her nephews, Lacon Alexander Palm and Matthew Nels Palm of Tuscaloosa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Krista was born August 31, 1965, in Tuscaloosa. She lived and worked for the past 12 years in her favorite city, Nashville, Tenn. She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa Academy, The University of Alabama, and Vanderbilt School of Nursing. She held a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and was a registered nurse practitioner. Krista had an easy laugh, a tender heart, and a love for animals. Blessed with a keen intellect, she was an avid reader, a gifted writer, and was extraordinarily gifted in her chosen field. She battled her illness over the past 10 years with incredible courage and determination, never once faltering in her faith in God, knowing that she would be with Him in heaven in her perfect body.

Pallbearers will be Larry Thrasher, Dell Thrasher, Blake Thrasher, Lance Carver, Adam Carver, Thad Campbell, and Stanley Campbell.

Honorary pallbearers are DCH Nursing Class of 1958, Dr. Andrew Allen, Dr. Victor Byrd, Jennifer McKinley, and Wendy Riggs.
