TUSCALOOSA – John William “Jay” Burroughs, II, age 55, died October 15, 2021 at UAB Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Dockery officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Jay was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Thompson; and grandparents.
He is survived by his sons, John Garret Burroughs and Robert Scott Brenizer; daughter, Bailey Alise Wedgeworth (Hank); new granddaughter, Adelaide Avery Wedgeworth; parents, John and Inez Burroughs; and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jay was an organ donor with the Legacy of Hope of Birmingham.
