Houston Everett Burns

HOUSTON EVERETT BURNS, 93, of Northport, Alabama, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024. Beloved and devoted husband, brother and friend, Mr. Burns worked for many years until his retirement serving in the U.S. Navy, Sunbeam Bread, and at the Veterans Administration Hospital Motor Pool in Tuscaloosa. He was a generous and caring man who dedicated his life to the service of others, especially his dear wife.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Agnes Juanita Ertle Burns, his father and mother, John A. Burns and Allie W. Higginbotham Burns; his brothers, John S. Burns and Charles V. Burns; and his sisters, Allie Mae Burns and Louise Burns.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Burns’ nephews, David Yeager, DeWayne McBride, and Brandon White; his great nephew, Cameron Roland; and James Thomas and Daniel Thomas.

Visitation will be at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 Old Birmingham Highway in Tuscaloosa followed by graveside services at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Blake Mohling of Holten Heights Church of the Nazarene officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Holten Heights Church of the Nazarene.
