Earnest Jimmy Price, age 77, of Duncanville passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25 at Hospice of West Alabama. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27 from 11:00 AM to 12PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Followed by graveside services at Clement’s cemetery at 1PM.
Jimmy was born October 11, 1946 in Tuscaloosa to Ernest B. and Irene (Shuttlesworth) Price. He grew up in Duncanville, Alabama and attended Tuscaloosa County high school. He served six years in the Army National Guard, was a train engineer for a good part of his life, and retired as an equipment operator for Tuscaloosa County Road and Bridge crew.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters (Shirley Sparks and Geraldine Price) He is survived by his son, Earnest (Ernie) Jimmy Price, Jr., daughters, Patricia (Patty) Price and Holly (Price) Woodruff, brother Cecil Price, and sisters Linda and Josephine Price. Grandchildren, Anna (Price) Cantor, Haley (Price) Cagle, Sean Price, Ayslan Blake, Audrey Blake, and many great-grandchildren.
Jimmy was a member of liberty Baptist Church in Duncanville. He loved to play dominoes, fish, eat, and travel. As a self-described, plain and simple man he loved spending time with family and friends.
