Dana Mark Silas, 47, of Northport passed away August 9, 2023, at DCH Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm. Mark was born in Tuscaloosa, attended Hillcrest High School and was a graduate of Shelton State Community College. He worked for Nichols Construction Company and was one of the most sought-after construction employees in Tuscaloosa, as he was a jack of all trades at painting, drywalling, and carpentry. Anyone who knew Mark knew he was kind and would do anything for you. Mark will be remembered for his devotion to his family as they were the loves of his life. He was a loving
husband, father, and son. Not a day went by that he and his father didn’t communicate with each
other. They were more than father and son—they were best friends. He delighted in time spent with
his wife and daughter, going camping, playing in their backyard pool, long walks, and trips to the beach. Mark had many passions including hunting, fishing, boating and working in his yard. He had a special fondness for his Mimi’s peach cobbler, pancakes, and sweet potato casserole and would have his fill anytime he visited. Mark and his family had several dogs, cats, and a rabbit, but the love for his fur baby, Silas, was the greatest of all. He loved this dog so much he built him an outdoor house, complete with heat & air conditioning. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Silas Campbell. Mark leaves behind is
beloved wife, Kim, and daughter, SaraBella Grace, his step daughters, Shannah and Savannah Pearce
of Buhl, AL, his father, Dana, and step mother, Roberta, of Jackson, TN, step-brothers Brandon Marchbanks of Nashville, TN and Bret Marchbanks of Ft Lauderdale, FL., his uncle, Gary and wife Donna of Columbus, MS, a host of cousins and friends, sister in law, Miranda Fleming (Chris) and special friends, Todd Batchelor and Chris Tilley. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jeff Nichols for assisting Kim at her
time of need.
