Curtis was born January 22, 1958, in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was raised in the Oakdale community where he attended Oakdale Elementary and played football for the Oakdale Raiders. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church where he accepted Christ at a very young age. Curtis was a 1976 graduate of West End Christian School where he excelled in football and was voted most handsome of his senior class. He was a past employee of TTL, Inc. where he met, fell in love, and married Britette Duke on June 4, 1988. Their love is everlasting as they recently celebrated 34 years of marriage this month. Their partnership in work and marriage led to the formation of Technical Drilling Services, Inc. in August of 1995. For the past 27 years, together they have provided environmental drilling services throughout the southeast.
Curtis was well respected in the professional sector as he was a giving man who exhibited honesty, loyalty and was one of the hardest working men you would ever meet. Underneath his rugged exterior you would find a true gentleman that was kind and tender hearted with such a sweet disposition. He was an avid fan of Alabama football and as a child he loved to hunt and fish with his Dad and Grandad. If there was animal that needed rescuing, Curtis was the person to do it. His week was not complete without a take-out order from Outback and in early spring you may find him at a Talladega NASCAR race or hiding away in his cabin by the lake. Curtis was a friend to all and to know him was to love him. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
