EUTAW – Ann Morrow Morris, age 83, died February 17, 2023 surrounded by family at her home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Eutaw United Methodist Church with Pastor Jimmy Boone and Pastor Jason Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Mesopotamia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
Ann was born Ophelia Ann Morrow to parents Lucille Graham Morrow and James Patton Morrow on October 31, 1939 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She graduated from Greene County High School where she proudly represented the Panthers as head majorette. She received her Associate in Science degree from Livingston University. She served on the Board of Registrars in Greene County, Alabama as well as numerous self-employed businesses through the years. She was a faithful lifetime member of Eutaw United Methodist Church where she served on many committees, was in the church choir, and taught Sunday School for nursery age children for over 30 years. Her mission in life became to be an ambassador for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to lead by example to all those around her, especially her family. She was always smiling, sharing her faith, encouraging, and supporting others. She loved all people but children held a special place in her heart.
Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Morrow; father, James “JP” Morrow; brother, Bob Morrow; sister, Barbara Finley (Bob); husband, Joe Sheldon Morris, Jr.; son, Joseph “Jo-Jo” Sheldon III; and nephews, Kim and Kelly Morrow.
She is survived by her brother, Jim Morrow (Lindal); sister-in-law, Rosa Morrow and Elizabeth Jones; daughter, Joanne Cameron (Tony); son, Pat Morris (Lisa); grandchildren, Mitchell Elliott (Sonya), Michelle Hughes, JP Morris, Halle Morris, Mac Poole, Alex Poole, Niki Poole, and Claire Bell; great-grandchildren, Denver Benjamin (Jaalin), Darby Elliott, Dakota Elliott, Rowdy Elliott, Legend Elliott, Sheldon Beatty, Savannah Hughes, Wylder Hughes, Oakley Dayawon, and Baker Hedrick; great-great-grandson, Royal Benjamin; and numerous loving nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Elliott, JP Morris, Rowdy Elliott, Sheldon Beatty, Rob Finley, and Brooks Finley.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Morrow, David Morrow, Graham Morrow, Morris Pate, Michael Pate, and Sarah Dee Harbin, all affiliates that affectionately knew her as “Mama Ann,” classmates and friends of Greene County High School, Shauna and John Stephens, Stephanie Woods, and the staff of Comfort Care Hospice.
