Marcus is survived by his spouse of 27 years, Tina Lema of Turlock; his son Noah Lema of Turlock; his sister Cathy Strohmeyer (Stan) of Escalon. His three sisters in law; Linda Moore (Rory) of Los Banos; Lynnette Delgado (Willy) of Newman and Eileen Ingram (Clarence) of Monterey. His uncle Mathew Alves (Maryjane) of Caruthers; his aunt Dorothy Lema of Gilroy; his uncle Edwin Silva (Elsie) of Aptos and his god father Don Soares (Claire) of Turlock. Marcus is also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
Marcus was preceded in death by his father Daniel George Lema and his mother Dolores Marie Lema.
Marcus attended all local schools, Bonita in Crows Landing, Yolo and Orestimba High School in Newman. He graduated from MJC and Sacramento State University. He worked many years for Sunshine Biscuits and Northwestern Mutual and then found his true passion for work at Turlock Walnut Company as a Grower Relations Manager.
Marcus was very involved with his community, he was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church as well as a Past Grand Knight of their Knights of Columbus Council, a member of Sunrise Rotary Club Turlock, a member of Turlock Ag Committee, a member of Stanislaus County Farm Bureau and a past member of Harley Owners Group of Modesto. Marcus so loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved music and enjoyed the solitude of working in his yard. He loved going to the beach, especially Pismo and Monterey and he was a loyal San Francisco Giants and Forty Niners Fan. He loved people and took much joy in making them laugh.
A visitation for Marcus will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Rosary service will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 South Walnut Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Funeral Mass will occur Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 South Walnut Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
A committal service will follow the funeral service, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Hills Ferry Cemetery, 1334 W. Stuhr Road, Newman, CA 95360.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Caton, Scott Gaylor, Greg Eisenhauer, Jeff Ennis, Mark Riggins and Chris Lopes.
