It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hermana S. Camboia, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother on November 5, 2024. She was 91 years old and left behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.
Hermana was born on November 2, 1933 in São Miguel Açores, where she grew up and developed her passion for family, cooking, and gardening. She dedicated her life to nurturing others, filling her home with warmth and love that was felt by everyone who knew her. Her family was the center of her world, and she was a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A gifted gardener, Hermana found immense joy in cultivating beautiful flowers, and tended to her plants with the same care and dedication she gave her loved ones. Hermana was also an extraordinary cook, known for her delicious meals and unforgettable recipes. Every meal she prepared was a labor of love, and she took great pleasure in feeding family and friends.
Hermana is survived by her children Manuel Camboia (Sharon) of Merced, David Camboia (Phyllis) of Hughson, Carlos Camboia of Hilmar, Joe Camboia of São Miguel, Açores, and Eulalia Maria de Sousa Camboia of Merced, 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Camboia, her daughter Gabriela de Sousa Silva, her parents Manuel and Maria Alexandre, and her siblings José Alexandre, Manuel Alexandre, Antonio Alexandre, Hilda Ponte, Isabel Ponte, and Francisca Cambra.
Her unwavering love, gentle spirit, and selfless nature will be deeply missed, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
A viewing will be held for Hermana on Thursday November 14, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main St. Turlock, Ca, 95380.
The Recitation of the Rosary followed by Funeral Mass will be held on Friday November 15, 2024 starting at 10:00am at St. Jude Thaddeus Church, 330 Franci St., Livingston, Ca, 95334.
The Mausoleum Internment will be held on Friday November 15, 2024 at 11:15 at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, Ca, 95326.
