Mrs. Etelvina De Sousa Fontes, age 89 passed away on Tuesday June 7, 2016 in Hilmar, California, surrounded by her husband and her loving family, she was a native of Fajã dos Vimes, São Jorge, Azores. Mrs. Fontes is survived by her husband of 68 years, João Fontes of Hilmar.

6 Sons- Jorge Fontes & wife Gabriela of S. Jorge, João Fontes & wife Lucia of Watsonville, Antonio Fontes & wife Carmen of Watsonville, Jose Fontes of S. Jorge, Isalino Fontes & wife Martha of Delhi. 6 Daughters- Cecilia Serpa & spouse Manuel of Atwater, Maria S. Pedro Steven & spouse Dawn of Tulare,

Odete Rowlands & spouse Jim of Washington, Fatima Avila of Hilmar, Mariana Relva & spouse Fernando of Hilmar, Ana Teixeira & spouse Carlos of Hilmar. 25 Grandchildren as well many Great Grandchildren, 2 Brothers- Francisco Sousa of Idaho, Fernando Sousa of Continente, 5 Sisters- Maria Sousa of Hanford, Olinda Sousa of Idaho, Christina Gomes of Hanford, Isaura Azevedo of Idaho, Herminia Inacio of Modesto.

Etelvina loved to knit, weave rugs, take care of her family and she loved her family dearly!

Mrs. Etelvina De Sousa Fontes was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock, and she is preceded in death by her Son- Manuel Fontes, Grandson- Duarte Fontes, and her Parents-Inacio and Maria Sousa.

Services: Visitation-2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday June 12, 2016 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main St., Turlock, California.

Recitation of the Rosary- 9:00 AM, Monday June 13, 2016 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main St., Turlock.

Funeral Mass- 10:00 AM, Monday June 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Rd., Turlock. A burial will be following of the service to N. Hilmar Cemetery District, 8710 N. Tegner Rd. Hilmar, California.
