Terri was born Terri Lynn Boysen in Olympia, Washington, in 1962, where she grew up enjoying the outdoors, playing with the family pets and farm animals and in general being a tomboy. She attended North Thurston High School and graduated in 1980. Not being one to settle down right away she decided on the spur of the moment to join the US Navy in 1981. She wanted to be a nurse, but settled on being an electronic technician, which, as it turns out she really enjoyed. After finishing her electronic technician schooling she went to Naples, Italy to work in the electronic calibration lab there. That is where she met the love of her life and future husband, Timothy. Tim is from Texas and with her being from Washington it was a perfect match. They both transfered to Norfolk, Virginia in 1984 and traveled to Olympia to be married in January 1986 and she happily became Terri Lynn Price. When their time in the US Navy was completed in 1987 the happy couple moved to Kirkland, Washington, where she took on the task of being a mother to Tim's two children, Tim Junior and Pauline. Being a mother was something she excelled at, even working a full time job did not deter her from being there for them. (Please note, she never thought of herself as a step-mother or her children as step-children.) She worked at Boeing in the Seattle calibration facility and returned after each lay-off without a second thought. She retired from Boeing in 2019 after relocating their home to Olympia, Washington in December 2017.
Terri enjoyed sitting on the front porch of her new home on a summer day with Tim by her side as they watched the birds, squirrels, rabbits and deer in the yard, being an avid reader she had several books on birds in particular. She enjoyed visiting with family and having her five grandchildren visit delighted her beyond description. One of her pleasures was having a large family gathering and cooking up a meal that was as delicious as it was different. Turkey tacos for Thanksgiving? Well, it did have turkey in it.
She loved traveling and being out exploring on the open road, especially with Tim, from the back roads of Washington, to the long treks to Texas and so many other places. She even toured Europe with her mom and dad in 1984 while she was stationed in Italy. Terri had dreams for her and Tim to drive to Alaska, but she was never able to pursue those dreams. Her life was not all beauty and success, she learned in 2002 that she had End Stage Renal Failure, which almost killed her, but in 2005 she received a kidney transplant and life continued. Terri relaxed into retirement alongside Tim and settled into slowly unpacking her memories, still in the boxes from the move from Kirkland to Olympia. She was happy, content and loved.
Mere words cannot tell you the amazing woman she was or the life she lived. Terri loved big and without hesitation. We can have comfort knowing her life was full of joy and that the good days far outweighed the hard days. She was fighting to stay with us right up to the end. She will be missed by so many friends and family.
