Margaret Louise Warner (Shattuck) of Olympia WA, passed away on January 5th, 2013, under the care of Providence Partners in Palliative care in Everett, WA. Margaret was born on August 25, 1922, in Olympia, fifth of nine children to George and Marguerite Shattuck, homesteaders to the area.
Margaret married Donald Vernon Warner July 20, 1940, in a family home, on Tumwater Hill. Except for a short stay in Dayton, Ohio during WWII she lived her entire life in the Olympia area where Don and Margaret raised four children.
Margaret was a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers Chapter 4,was an amateur photographer, Ham radio operator (N7HGX), volunteered at Tumwater School Dist, attended Tumwater Four Square Church and lived at Olympics West Retirement Inn until she moved to Everett, December 2012. Margaret truly believed in education and enjoyed reading to her students in Mrs Eaton’s class. Her faith in God was very important to her and she and Don attended Bible Study every Thursday. She also loved working puzzles and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her sons, Donald E. Warner (Kathy), Darrel G. Warner (Vicki) and her daughter Margo L. Turner (John), sister Dolores Gray and brother Eddie Shattuck, 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Donald, daughter Judith A Fischbach (Walt) of Gig Harbor, brothers Nelson and Bruce; sisters, Lura, Evelyn, and Alleen.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at Mills & Mills Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Rd. SW, Tumwater Washington, Saturday February 9th, 1PM, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband of 66 years.
