James Micheal Frost

Mike was born September 26, 1951, in Olympia, WA to Beverly (Welsh) and James H Frost. He graduated from Olympia High School in 1970 and attended Tacoma Community College. He served in the U.S. Airforce. On September 13, 1975, Mike married Patricia Eileen Gilchrist. They were married three days short of 48 years. He worked 30 years at various state agencies, finishing as an IT project manager with the Treasurer’s Office, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Hidden Creek Community church and liked helping Patty with hospitality at St. Michael’s Westside chapel. He enjoyed watching the Huskies, Seahawks and Mariners, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He never tired of attending recitals, ballet productions, concerts, and sporting events for his children and grandchildren. Mike was kind and selfless with a servant’s heart, always willing to lend a helping hand or drive you to the airport. His parents preceded him in death. Mike is survived by his wife Patty, his daughter Sarah (Greg) Lane; his son Justin Frost, all of Olympia; his sister Reneé Zirkle; his brother John (Cheryl) Frost; grandchildren Cooper (Kristen) Lane, Griffin (Myra) Lane, Braeden Lane, Kalissa Lane, and Gabriella Frost; and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 4 at Hidden Creek Community Church, 1807 9th Ave SW, Olympia, WA, 98502. A reception will follow at Hope Community Church, 2425 Black Lake Blvd SW, Olympia, WA 98512. Memorial donations may be made to Hidden Creek Community Church or any local youth sports club.
