Dorothy Ada Modun

Dorothy Ada Modun, 79, of Tumwater, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024. Dorothy was born on February 2, 1945 to Charles R. and Evelyn J. Miller in Morton, WA. During Dorothy’s childhood years the family lived in Arcata, CA. After her sophomore year in high school the family moved to Aberdeen, WA.

After Dorothy graduated from Weatherwax High School (Aberdeen, WA) in 1962, she went on to and graduated from DeWitts Beauty School. She would work 25 years as a professional cosmetologist. Upon retiring from hairdressing, Dorothy worked in the Tumwater public schools as an Educational Assistant. Then before completely retiring, she worked at Tumwater Veterinary Hospital.

In 1959, Dorothy met Gary while in High School. They married in May of 1966. Dorothy and Gary went on to have one child, Sean.

Dorothy was predeceased in death by her parents, husband Gary, her brothers Michael Miller, Ron Miller, and her sister Patricia Morrison. She is survived by her son Sean, daughter-in-law Simone, sister Teri Navarre, brother David Easley and several nephews and nieces.

Services will be held at Mills & Mills Memorial Park in Tumwater on Thursday, June 13 at 12:00 PM.
