Donna May Engdahl

Donna May Engdahl was 94 years old and passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, 2 days before her husband, Donald, passed away. Donna was born in Austin, Minnesota on February 12, 1930 to David & Hazel Nelson. She married her forever sweetheart Don Engdahl, on November 3, 1951, just 6 months after they first met.

They soon moved to Olympia, Washington at the urging of his brother Harold & wife Elenore who lived in Portland, Oregon. They resided in Olympia for 63 years and moved to Auburn Retirement Home in 2022 to be closer to family.

She stayed home with her 4 children Lynn, Steph, Mark & Cindy until she went to work for the State of Washington. She made the best pies with the best flakey crust.

Donna was on several bowling leagues and won several trophies for the highest average on her women’s league and went onto state tournaments.

She loved being with family, playing cards, playing bridge with her husband & friends, traveling to be with her family & friends to places like Hawaii, Las Vegas, Portland, Minnesota, Tennessee and Tucson.

Donna was a truly caring, protective and loving mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend.

Donna is survived by her 4 children Lynn, Steph (Brad), Mark (Joy) Cindy, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews and their families.

The funeral service celebrating Donna & Don’s life will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Friday October 18 from 1 – 4pm (5725 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater, WA). Service will be held in the Chapel at 1pm followed by a gravesite visit. A lite meal & dessert will follow in the chapel.
