Daniel Irwin Stuckey was born September 15, 1934, in Grand Coulee, Washington to Minford and Dorothy Stuckey. He grew up on Mercer Island, WA, and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1953. He attended WSU and studied dairy science. Dan spent his working career with the Washington State Department of Fisheries, where he was passionate about preserving the salmon resource.
He leaves behind his partner of twenty two years, Laura Hutchison, and his children Mark (Jan) Stuckey, Ann (Paul) Mayne, and David (Franci) Stuckey, seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Noni Vandenberg, and his parents. Also survived by siblings Patty Buckingham, Mary Larson, and John (Laurie) Stuckey.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 24th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Pellegrino’s Event Center in Tumwater. The family will privately scatter his ashes later.
