Wendy Ann Madrid passed away on Saturday, March 31st, 2018 at the age of 64, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband David, sister Dawn Armbruster (Jack Williams), step-children Michelle Y. Hamlin, Sharon R. Madrid and David (Victoria) Madrid. nephew Matt Armbruster, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and brother-in-law Steve Madrid. Wendy served her country by joining the US Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor Naval Dental Center, Hawaii. After her enlistment she attended Operating Room Technician school and relocated to Tucson where she was hired at University Medical Center. She joined the Naval Reserve and met her husband David Madrid. She retired from the Naval Reserve after a total active and reserve commitment of 22 years, at the rank of Dental Technician First Class (E-6). She worked at the VA Hospital in the G.I. Lab, ICU floor and the Orthopedic Clinic. Wendy cherished her pets. She and David loved to spoil their dogs by cooking for them daily. Later it would be said that their dogs ate better than some of their friends. Remains are being handled by Desert Rose Heather Mortuary. Services are Thursday, April 12th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 N. Shannon Rd. Rosary at 10:00 short visitation followed by the Mass at 11:00. Reception to follow. "In lieu of flowers, you may donate funds to the Animal Rescue, ASPCA, Tucson chapter in her name."
