It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Aurora Victoria Rivera, “Yoya,” of Tucson, Arizona on November 26, 2021. She was born on December 23, 1946, in Nogales, Sonora to Carlos and Artemisa (Cota) Peregrina. On July 29, 1972, she married Rosario Alcoverde Rivera (Chalito) in Nogales, AZ. They raised two daughters, Lyvier and Talia and one son, Rosario Andres. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at Mission Manor Elementary, inspiring, and mentoring children for over 25 years. Many of her days were filled with conversations with friends and family, both close and long-distance. Victoria was always passionate about learning all things new, especially if it was about history, or new cultures. She also had a deep love for music and dance. She adored being a grandmother to her three grandchildren. She had an amazing ability to be able to connect with people of many generations. Always remembering names, dates, birthdays; she made you feel important. Victoria was preceded in death by her father, Carlos, her mother, Artemisa, and brother Jorge. She is survived by her husband Rosario, her three children, Lyvi (Morris), Talia (Tony) and Andy, her brothers Carlos, Ricardo, Pablo, her sisters Margie, Maru, Sylvia, Nellie, her grandchildren Ava, Torin, Anthony, and many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces. And we cannot for to mention her beloved Spud. Victoria will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. We love you so much.
