Ruth Warris Thompson

Ruth Warris Thompson, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on March 6, 2023. She was 97. In her life, and in her passing from this life, she was loved. Her family was the center of her life and of her love. We lovingly called her Bu~ the Indonesian word for mother~ grandmother/gramma Bu, and Bu Nanna. She fell in love with and married Tommy Thompson. Together, they raised 4 strong independent children and travelled the world with them. They lived in remarkable places including Northern India and Central Java. She was born on the East Coast, was raised on the West Coast, and lived in the Mid-West. She loved Arizona most of all. She loved the mountains, the light, the magnificent sunsets, and the heavenly smell of creosote after a welcome desert rain. And so, it is fitting that she is laid to rest now in Tucson. Next to Tommy. In view of the Catalina Mountains. She gave us - her loving family - the gift of life. May her love and her memory be a blessing.

A graveside service for Ruth will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712.
