She was preceded in death by her son Ramon Hernandez, daughter Nelda H. Mankel and grandson George “Gino” Lujan. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Roberto Hernandez, children Isabel (Alan) Dallman, Robert Hernandez, Annette Hernandez, Cassandra (George) Lujan, Patricia Hernandez and Rosie (Tany) Flores. 24 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive her.
She was a faithful Catholic, serving Santa Cruz Catholic Church as a Religious Education Teacher and Eucharistic Minister for many years. She was selfless, giving, thoughtful and loving. Every person who met her instantly became her friend. She was a beautiful, happy soul. You couldn’t help but to love her. Her happy nature was contagious. Whenever you saw her, you were met with a smile, even if she was facing the most difficult times. She was the first person you called when you were facing tough times or when you had the most joyous news to share. She rejoiced in your successes and she was your rock when you thought you could not go on. Her biggest joy in life was her love for her children and grandchildren.
One of the greatest gifts she shared with us was her unshakeable faith in God. She will continue to be our rock and we will live in her honor by having faith in God and carrying on how she lived her life - “Dios Adelante y Nosotros Atras”
