Reyes L. “Birdie” Vega, 68 born 12/16/1950 went to be with the Lord on 01/08/2019. Preceded in death by his parents Ernesto and Amada Vega, brother Ernest “Gorgie” Vega. Birdie known by most is survived by his two sons Adam (Shelly) Vega, Chris (Stephanie) Vega, grandkids Adam Jr. & Jessica Vega and longtime companion Connie Lopez -Huebner. Also survived by his siblings Mercy (Mando) Gonzales, Ralph (Maria) Vega, Rachel (Roland) Duarte, Gerie (Tom) Placencio, MaryAnn (Raul) Caballero, Margie (Richard) Lopez, Patsy Vega, Lupe (Manny) Romero and many nieces and nephews. He served and retired from the Navy, Seabees and Davis Monthan Air Force Base (bone yard). Birdie was a hard worker and all around handyman. He was always willing to lend a hand and helped anyone in their time of need. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Most Holy Trinity located at 1300 N Greasewood Rd, Tucson, AZ 85745, viewing will be held at 9:00 am with the Rosary recited at 9:30 am and mass to follow at 10:00 am. A reception will held immediately following the mass in the Guadalupe Hall adjacent to the church.
