Patricia Schumacher, 85 of Western Way RV Resort, Tucson, AZ died in her sleep June 14, 2012 after 10 years with Alzheimer’s disease. \ She dedicated her life to her family and worked as a volunteer to several organizations including the Girl Scouts, YMCA, Church organizations, Band Boosters, Antiques Guild, Gourmet Club, and Hawks Inn Historical Museum in Delafield, Wisconsin. She loved to sing and participated in many church choirs as well as Sweet Adelines in Wisconsin and the Western Way Chorale in Arizona. Her other creative endeavors included cooking, sewing, gardening, and furniture refinishing. She also did professional modeling, worked as a bank teller and handled bookkeeping for her husband’s business. She enjoyed camping and traveling to historic places and national parks.
Born to Herbert and Elsie Ashley of Troy, NY, on March 25, 1927, she graduated from Troy High School in 1945 and married Rodger Schumacher of Binghamton, NY in 1949. She lived in Buffalo, NY; Cleveland, OH; Chatham, NJ ; Chenequa, WI; camped in all 50 states, traveled full time in a 34 ft. Motorhome for 10 years as members of SKPs; was Evergreen Coho Resort Board member of Chimicum Washington and eventually retired to Tucson, AZ in the mid-nineties.
Survivors include her husband Rodger, sister Shirley Shaw, brother Bruce (Alba) Ashley, two daughters Gail Schumacher & Leslie (Mark) Dunkak, grandson Justin (Kourtni) Dunkak, several nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by her oldest sister Norma Richards two weeks earlier and sister Marilyn Tilton over 10 years ago.
