Mark Steven Clark, age 71, of Tucson, Arizona; Laughlin, Nevada; Petersham, Massachusetts; and Columbus, Ohio, passed away on January 31, 2022 after an intense battle with multiple organ failures and COVID pneumonia. He was surrounded by his daughters in his final days. Mark was an intelligent, warm, compassionate and quietly funny man. We are deeply saddened at his passing. Mark will live in our hearts forever.
Mark was born on January 9, 1951, to Robert Earl Clark and Carol Mae (Gamso) Clark in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from high school, college and law school in New England, Mark practiced law, served as an elected official, and built a family.
Mark opened his home to foster children and then adopted Ashley, Zachariah, and Rachel. He was also a loving stepfather to Anastasia. Mark was unendingly proud of his children and always tried his best to support them. He volunteered as a leader within our community of faith, and he served on the Petersham town council and school board. Mark was very passionate about law. After retiring from lawyering, he authored “Laws and Lawyers in Today’s America” and other publications. Mark also enjoyed golfing.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mark was predeceased by his wife and soulmate, Katheryn Dokken. He is survived by his daughter Ashley Elizabeth Clark, daughter Rachel Gavriela (Clark) Padgett, son Zachariah Arthur Clark, daughter Anastasia Bacigalupo, grandson Adrian Noah Jacobo, grandson Alejandro Jaiden Jacobo, granddaughter Madeline Rose Rasmussen, and grandson Mason Lee Padgett.
