It is with great sadness that we announce that on Sunday August 7, 2022, Manuel “Manny” J. Bracamonte, Jr., passed away at the age of 62 in Tucson, Arizona. Manny was born on November 7, 1959, to Martha Elena Bracamonte and Manuel J. Bracamonte, Sr. (deceased), in Nogales, Arizona. He was affectionately known as “Brac” to all who knew him.
Manny was a loving husband, father of three children, and caring grandfather to two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Norma, children Steven (Carmen) Bracamonte, Adrianna Bracamonte and Jacob Bracamonte, grandchildren Dominic and Steven Jr. “SJ,” and his mother Martha Elena Bracamonte. Siblings Patricia “Pat” Bracamonte, Eddie “Chapo” Bracamonte (Susie), Miguel “Mike” Bracamonte (deceased), Yolanda “Yolie” Cordova (Jaime Cordova –deceased) and Martha “Marti” Casorla (Muhamed “Mo”). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Manny was an avid angler and hunter with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. He enjoyed fishing the lakes of Patagonia and Roosevelt and hunting the lands of both Southern and Northern Arizona. The stories Manny would tell of his fishing and hunting expeditions were so vividly narrated that one could almost put themselves in his shoes. Manny had an intense respect for the land that fueled his passions. He taught his children that what you take from the land you give back to replenish its loss. Manny brought joy to others around him through love and passion for gardening. He worked so diligently to display the brightest colors and balance within his yard. During holidays he worked with earnest effort decorating his yard for everyone to enjoy. Manny was also an avid sports fan. He had such a vast knowledge of athletes in many forums of the sports world. Being from Tucson, Manny was a devoted “U of A” Wildcat fan. Win or lose, he always sported his Wildcat apparel with pride.
Manny graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1978. Shortly after, Manny began his 43-year career in the Grocery Industry. Manny was energized by dedication to his personal work ethic. He was a diligent, selfless, and a knowledgeable individual in his specialty of being a Butcher. Manny took pride in his work. He enjoyed teaching his friends the art of processing the rewards of their hunts.
Those who knew Manny can say he was not a man of little words. He always took the time to reach out to his friends and family. His newest and greatest accomplishment in life was being a grandfather to both Dominic and Steven Jr. “SJ.” Manny recently retired after 43 years in the grocery business to enjoy this new journey in life. He was a loyal friend, a genial character, and an unceasing presence to everyone whose path he crossed. His message to everyone was to enjoy every moment life has to offer and to make the best of whatever time life offers you because one never knows when it will be your last. This beautiful message also conveyed via Manny’s favorite song, “Til You Can’t,“ by Cody Johnson. Manny will be greatly missed; his memory will forever live in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
“I carry your heart in my heart,” your loving Wife Norma.
