He completed high school graduating from Blue Mountain High School in Orwigsburg, PA. He was involved in Football, Softball, 4H, and lettered in Track & Field. After high school, Kurt enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After exiting the Marine Corps, he attended trade school at Schuylkill Technical Institute, learning Horticulture and Auto Body repair. He also played on several softball teams within Schuylkill County.
In May of 1989 Kurt was reacquainted with Pamela Clark whom he’d met briefly in 1982. They began dating and married 6 months later after a whirlwind long-distance relationship that lasted 2 months shy of 34 years. After marrying they lived in PA for 2 years then moved to Tucson in Sept. of 1991 making this his permanent home. Wanting a family, Kurt and Pam brought nieces, Autumn and Haley into their home and hearts in March 2004, making their family dreams complete.
Kurt was employed in many fields and trades throughout his life, working at Kepner Scott Shoe Manufacturing, Hamburg Steel Manufacturing, Sam’s Wholesale Club, Walmart Stores, and Security for several companies before retiring in November of 2022.
Kurt completed this life on July 18, 2023. Cherishing his homegoing are his loving wife Pamela, daughters Autumn Rayn and Haley Allison, grandchildren Nicholas, Carter, Mariella, Cody, Micah, Noah and Amaya; brothers Kevin (Claudine), Karl (Brenda), stepsister Donna, half-brother Kris; mother-in-law Nellie Clark, brother-in-law Milton (Deanna), sister-in-law Tricia (Michael); a huge host of Aunts/Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Kurt was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Franklin, mother, Jean Marie, stepmother, Patricia, father-in-law Major, brother-in-law Carlton, grandparents Paul and Fietta Reed, Dorothy and Frank Rauch, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
