Karina Moreno

Karina was a pure soul, kind and caring to everyone she came in contact with. She faced many obstacles in life and always came out on top, there was literally nothing she couldn't do! She was one of the most selfless, bravest, and strongest human beings to roam this Earth. She put the needs of anyone before her own and motivated everyone to be better; always in support of whatever anyone did. She was a silly person who loved to make people laugh. She loved dancing in the kitchen, cooking for everyone, and playing loteria and Minecraft with her family. She was an amazing cook and always made the most

amazing meals that would bring our large extensive family together on so many occasions. In her early twenties, Karina suffered 2 strokes that left the right half of her body paralyzed and affected her speech and left her with aphasia. Despite these challenges, she fought through every disability with about a year of therapy to be there for her two daughters and husband, and even continued to have two sons after recovery. In 2019, she got to watch her family grow, and welcomed a grandson, and a granddaughter, in 2021. Unfortunately, In 2022 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and endured intense and vigorous treatment to fight the cancer. She successfully went into remission and was able to enjoy 2 wonderful and very spoiled years with her family, and continued to watch it grow with the addition of another grandson, and the news of another granddaughter on the way. Earlier this year, her cancer returned. She prepped for several months before starting a very aggressive form of treatment. Due to many unforeseen medical complications, her health deteriorated, and although she fought with every ounce of her being, at the young age of 46 her cancer battle came to an end. Karina’s spirit and legacy is kept alive by her husband(Jose), 4 children, (Ariana, Carolina, Jose, Alejandro) her 4 grandchildren, (Matthew, Luna, Aldahir, and baby girl to come Ellianna Karina) and so many other extended family and friends made along the way. She will be truly missed.

A visitation for Karina will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
