Judith “Judy” Diane Hall of Tucson, Arizona passed away from cancer on November 7, 2022. Judy was born on January 11, 1944, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Mary Lucille (Harter) Richards. Judy and her family relocated to Tucson, Arizona in 1951 after a doctor recommended the family move to a warmer and drier climate due to Judy’s and her mother’s health. Judy attended Sunnyside Elementary School, where she met lifelong friends, Patti Phipps and Donna Bennett. Judy excelled in school. While attending Sunnyside High School, Judy earned a spot at the Arizona State Typing Championship, among many other achievements. She graduated from Sunnyside High School on June 6, 1962. After high school, Judy worked at Mountain States Telephone Company. A few years later, she met William Talmadge Hall. The couple married at Verde Heights Baptist Church on August 26, 1967. When asked what she dreamed of becoming after high school, Judy always answered “being a mom.” And that’s what she became on April 26, 1970, when she and Tom welcomed their first child, a daughter, named Jamie Sue. Two years later, Judy gave birth to a son, John Dean. Judy was divorced in 1977. She returned to work, where she spent 30 years at the Yellow Pages before retiring on July 16, 1999. During retirement, Judy enjoyed traveling, spoiling her grandchildren, and attending women’s Bible studies. Judy loved being a mom and grandma and dedicated her entire life to providing for and loving her children and grandchildren. Judy is survived by her daughter, Jamie Dube of Tucson; her son, John and his wife, Karen of Tucson; four grandchildren, Brandon Dube of Tucson and Lydia, Abigail, and Sophie Hall of Tucson; one brother, Larry Richards and his wife Cecelia of Tucson; one sister, Dixie Guild and her husband Glenn of Tucson; and many nieces and nephews.
