Born in Dayton, Ohio on Nov. 16, 1924, Joyce died peacefully on June 5, 2011 after sharing the gift of her life with others for 86 years. She was the daughter of Joseph and Audrey Mundhenk of Montgomery County, Ohio. She is survived by husband Oran, sister Jeannine and brothers Bob, John, and David. Her children are Rebecca, Steven and Mark, and beloved grandmother to Jada, Joshua, Max and Kate. Joyce was a gracious and caring soul whose life was deeply touched by the power of her Savior Jesus Christ. She was an accomplished businesswoman who at the age of 62 started and grew a successful home health care agency. Joyce’s care and compassion were evident in her love for family and employees, many of whom were able to give that love back to her by caring for her during her final days. Joyce moved to Tucson from Dayton, Ohio in 1954. She developed close friendships with Native American families from Taos Pueblo, New Mexico. Joyce and Oran hosted and established friendships with foreign exchange students from many other countries as sponsors with International Friends. Joyce was blessed with the richness of her family in Christ in the church. During this time she established many lasting friendships that spanned decades. Joyce’s openness to others was contagious and she genuinely cared for people. Her presence in other’s lives and contributions to all will last indefinitely. Services will be held on Monday June 13, 2011 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road. Visitation for viewing is from 10:00am to 11:00am. Burial service from 11:00am to 12:00 noon.
