James E. Jackson was born at Cook County Hospital May 9, 1954 in Chicago Illinois to the union of William Jackson and Eula M. Jackson. He was the oldest son of both parents. He attended Grammer School at Carver Elementary in Chicago, Illinois. He also attended Carver High School in Chicago, Illinois, then decided to head to California attending John Muir High School in Pasadena, California, where he received his high school diploma. James attended Oliver Harvey College in Roseland, Illinois while working at Chicago Transportation Authorities. Where he met the love if his life Mary "Marie " Chatman and his soon to be stepchildren, Larrando and LaReesa in 1976. From their union came 3 other children LeVar, Lance and LaTvia Diamond Jackson.
James served in the United States Air Force for over 25 years as an airplane electrician and had many tours of duty.
