Gwendolyn C Ward

Gwen attended Cavett Elementary School for her early education, followed by private schooling at St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Parish Day School. She graduated from Palo Verde High School, where she was an active member of the Black Student Club. After graduation, she continued her education at the University of Arizona.

Gwen is preceded in death by her father, Joe Ward. She is survived by her mother, Hattie Ward; brother, Nelson Ward; uncles, Nelson Boykins and Leroy Lawson; one nephew and four nieces, along with 16 great-nephews and great-nieces. Additionally, she is remembered by several godchildren, a host of cousins, adopted nephews and nieces, and many friends.

A visitation for Gwendolyn will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at External Service Location, 3435 N 1st Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 3435 N 1st Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery, 5801 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712. A repass will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 7 East University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85705.
