Gladys was born May 30th, 1933, in Pineville, West Virginia to the late Garland Otto Cook Sr. and Flora Jane Cook. Gladys was married to Charles Williams, a USAF veteran, for 45 years. The Air Force stationed them to various bases in the US and several overseas assignments. Her heart and home belonged in Tucson. She returned to her home in 1971 and resided there ever since.
Gladys was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Williams, her former husband Charles Williams, her brothers Buell Cook and Bob Cook and her sisters Shirley Morgan, Anis Blevins, and Cleo Cullip. Gladys is survived by her sister Evelyn Cook and her two brothers Arlis Cook and Garland Cook Jr and two sisters-in-law: Judy McKee and Judy Cook. Survived by her four daughters: Margaret (Edwin) Lowell; Cheryl Moore, Debbie Williams (Mark Brown), and her special needs daughter Charlotte, whom she often referred to her as the special angel she was given. Gladys had 6 grandchildren. 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In Margaret’s family there is Charles (Sandy) Lowell and their son Tyler; David Lowell (Jessica) Lowell and their children Athaniel, Abrielle, and David Lowell Jr. (and daughter Davina). In Cheryl’s family there is Samantha Moore and her children Austin and Sophia. In Debbie’s family there is Chad Stough (Missy) and their children Isabella, Jacob, and Cody; Melissa Hawkins (Aaron Kellerman) and her children Kelson Hanson and Dylan Hawkins and Aaron’s children Brenden Kellerman (Elma) and son Kash and Emma Kellerman; and Jami Newburn (Cory Garcher) and her sons Broderick and Brayden.
Gladys was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We will miss her love, devotion to family, and generosity to all she knew. Many thanks to the wonderful providers at ElderHealth of Tucson and TMC Hospice. Your commitment to care and comfort in her final days were instrumental in her peaceful passing.
