Francisca Velasquez Guerrero

June 3, 1956 – November 14, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francisca V. Guerrero, age 68. Born in Nogales, Arizona, to Lauro Velasquez and Luz Martinez. Francisca lived a life filled with love, kindness, and joy. She resided in Sahuarita, Arizona, with her beloved husband, John Guerrero.

Francisca is survived by her devoted spouse, John Guerrero, and her cherished children: Santiago Gonzales (Nubia), Amanda Bennett (Chris), Cesar Gonzales (Sthephanie ), and Angel Gonzales (Charlee). She was also a loving stepmother to Priscilla Johnson (Quran) and Ramon Guerrero (Jessica). A proud grandmother, Francisca had 15 grandchildren who brought her immense happiness and with whom she loved to dance and create lasting memories.

She is also survived by her siblings: Armida Diaz, Dora Sepulveda, Carmen Peña, Margarita Velasquez, Fernando Velasquez, and Eduardo Velasquez. Francisca was preceded in death by her siblings Antonio Velasquez, Armando Velasquez, and Guadalupe Velasquez.

Francisca was known for her kind and generous heart, touching the lives of everyone who knew her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including dancing with her grandchildren, completing puzzles, watching novelas with her husband, and enjoying music—especially country classics, as well as the beloved songs of Ramon Ayala and Marco Antonio Solis.

Francisca will be deeply missed by her family and friends but will forever be remembered for the love and joy she brought into the world.

Though she is no longer with us, Francisca’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Francisca was a warrior, having battled breast cancer and beat it. In honor of her memory, attending mourners are encouraged to wear pink in honor of her fighting spirit.

A funeral mass for Francisca will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1220 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. Following the funeral mass will be a visitation from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
