June 14,1952-May 17,2024
Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Best Friend, after many years of health issues, passed peacefully in her sleep on May 17th with family by her side. She was a very positive and nurturing soul, who even through the tough times was always smiling.
She placed God and her family above all. Her hobbies included watching her favorite shows on tv, reading, gardening, cooking and nature. Most of all she loved making sure her family was always taken care of and felt loved.
She birthed her children at a very young age, working hard and moving many times to cover their needs. At the age of 24, a man approached her car in the middle of winter while she was stopped at a red light. His beard was iced over. She was so gracious to anyone, that she had allowed him to ride with her so that he may warm up. They became very close taking a vacation to Arizona just 5 weeks later. Together they waited for her childrens’ summer break and moved to Arizona and eventually they married.
Cheryl worked three jobs at a time to make sure they had everything they needed and provided for yearly family vacations to spend time with her parents and/or siblings.
She was incredibly supportive for her children to follow their hopes, dreams, and careers. She allowed everyone to be themselves while staying true to who she was. Everyone she met heard about her family, she was a Talker.
She put her dreams on hold-stopped working and dedicated her time to the grandchildren as the full time babysitter, waking up with them, taking them to and from school, Old Tucson, water parks, restaurants, etc. She made sure that they had fun, were fed, and felt the love she had for them.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ronald Humphrey (2011) and Marion Humphrey (2022). She is survived by her husband Richard, brothers Mark and Jeff, sisters Sue and Dawn, children Tania and Monique, grandchildren Terry, Tory and Matt, and great grandchildren Jeremiah and Jaxon.
Memorial services to be announced. In lieu or flowers, the family is asking for those who wish, to send cards and/or donations to 8299 S Alice Vail Ln, Tucson, AZ 85736 or donations can be accepted via Zelle 520-822-7227 to help with expenses toward funeral costs.
She was the glue that held our family together, always wanting everyone to get along and love one another as she loved us. The world was a beautiful and better place with her presence. She is truly missed and will be loved for eternity by her family and friends.
❤️ May she rest in Heavenly peace ❤️
