She was preceded in death by her grandparents Margarita and Jesus Valdez and father Reynaldo (Nano) Salazar. She is survived by her mother Celia Salazar; her son Del Cabarga and his wife Adazilia Cabarga; her daughter Brenda Lee Cabarga; her grandchildren Karen and Liana Cabarga, Sebastian, Ellie, and Teo Schubert; and her great-grandson Oliver Cabarga.
She graduated from Douglas High School and when she was a student, she proudly represented Douglas High School as a cheerleader. After high school, she worked as a receptionist, a special education assistant, a restaurant waitress and manager, a correctional officer, and a caregiver for children and adults.
Brenda loved her family, friends and all her small dogs. She loved to dance and listen to music. She often played the piano for her family on special occasions. She was an amazing cook and her home was beautiful for she had a special talent for decorating. She loved to dress up and wear her beautiful hats.
Most of all, Brenda loved Jesus and, sharing his loving words with others. She prayed daily for family and friends. She was a leader for God Squad Youth Group and an active member of Hope of Glory Ministries which helps the homeless through prayer, fellowship, and bible study.
Services for Brenda will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Funeraria Del Angel, 7 E. University Blvd, Tucson, AZ. The viewing will be held at 2pm, followed by a service at 3pm, and reception at 4pm.
She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, caring mother, and a generous grandmother and great grandmother whose greatest passion was helping her family, friends, and others. We love you Nana Brenda and you will always be in our hearts.
