Barbara Ann Rogers, 82, of Tucson, died February 25, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born March 17, 1930 in Burlington, Vermont to Harold and Agnes (Gould) Parrott. Barbara married Howard Rogers on December 06, 1947 in Eden, Vermont. She was the first born (big sister) of eleven in her wonderful family.
Barbara grew up in Vermont and moved to Connecticut in the 1950’s then back to Jeffersonville, Vermont in 1964. She lived in Jeffersonville before being transferred through IBM to Tucson in March of 1982. Barbara and Howard owned a very popular diner for eight years, which was called “The Rocky Spot Diner”. She had a love of cooking, baking, painting, making crafts, designing wedding cakes, flower gardening, and making conversations with all who came in contact with her. Barbara’s wonderful wit and smile will be dearly missed.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband Howard of 65 plus years, son Loren & wife Dianne of Tucson, son Gary & wife Gerri of Barre, Vermont, daughter Norma & husband Ted Hammack of Tucson, son Bruce & wife Janet of Tucson, son Brian & wife Patrice of Underhill, Vermont, daughter Diane Brannick & partner Michael Ittner of Tucson, and son Darryl & wife Lucy of Tucson; three sisters, Phyllis Sample, Joyce Ingalls and Nancy Lambert; four brothers, Clifton (passed 03/05/13), Jake, David and Charlie; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Alex Dicochea; two sisters, Janet Clara Rave and Shirley Jean Ingalls; one brother, Ronald Paul.
Memorial service was held at 11 am on Thursday, February 28 at Calvary Chapel of Tucson. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Casa de Luz Hospice of Tucson for all of their care and support.
