Richard was a caring husband and his children were the heart of his existence. Richard’s core values -- kindness and honesty -- shaped his approach to the world and are his legacy to his children. He had total faith in the goodness of humankind and worked tirelessly to make this world a better place.
He needed sunlight to thrive. He loved life in the tropics, running, hiking, scuba diving, paragliding, traveling, camping, and reading in a hammock by a river. He was an avid reader. He was also very proud of his command of the Spanish language and of his understanding of the Hispanic culture. Richard saw a special type of beauty in mathematics that he tried to instill in his students from all over the world. He was a very special type of man. We are going to miss him dearly!
A Mass is scheduled for Richard on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, 4 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church 3773 Chamblee Tucker Road, 30341. A celebration of Richard’s life will follow at 6 p.m. at the Weiner-Huice home, 3644 Wilton Avenue, Doraville 30340.
