Cathy Reynolds Mason

Cathy Reynolds Mason, 69, of Winder, Georgia passed away on June 28, 2023. She was born on June 3, 1954, in Gastonia, North Carolina to Vernon and Aretha Reynolds, and moved with her family to Georgia in 1965.

She was active in the Girl Scouts and International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in her youth. Cathy graduated from Avondale High School in 1972 where she played trumpet in the marching band among many other activities in which she excelled.

She worked for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution for many years before getting her real estate license. The titles she was most proud of, however, were Mom and Grandma.

Cathy was a fiercely determined person when she set her mind on something. If told she couldn’t do it, she would SHOW you that she could. She enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Michelle Meehan; son Michael Meehan (Mari); grandsons Paul Waruszewski, Nathan Meehan, Bryson Waruszewski, and Tyler Meehan; sister Carole Harbin; aunt Margaret Reynolds; cousins including Don and Suzie Mellon; niece Jennifer Long (Barry), great-nephews Aaron Long (Hannah) and Daniel Long; and many extended family members and friends who loved her.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 1:00pm with Rev. Barry Long officiating. Floral Hills Funeral Home – 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084 – with interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
