Ruth Schlosser

Ruth grew up in Levering and she attended Pelston High School. Ruth married the late Jack Schlosser on August 28, 1958. Together they raised 3 children, often with a great sense of humor. Being young parents, Ruth and Jack struggled through many years, but ultimately they persevered. Ruth worked for Kilwins and Kroger’s in Petoskey and Barlow Superette.

In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed crocheting, especially doilies. She also enjoyed ceramics and taking care of her grandchildren.

Ruth will be greatly missed by her children: Elizabeth Liggett of Traverse City, John (Joyce) Schlosser of Torrance CA, and Jackie Schlosser of Traverse City; four grandchildren: Jennifer Marsh, Nicole M. (Harold) Wazny, Hana Schlosser, and Travis Schlosser; five great grandchildren: Lily, Trenton, Parker, Ellie Wazny, and Dillon Liggett; siblings: Barbara (James) Robinson, Patricia Campbell, Michael Patterson, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, grandson Derek Schlosser; brother; William Patterson and brother-in-law Gary Campbell.

A visitation was held Monday, December 19, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A funeral was held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions in Ruth’s name were directed to Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or Crones Disease research.

Arrangements were entrusted to Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City.
