It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Julie Melissa Gaspar, who lost her battle with mental illness on October 8th, 2024 at the age of 54. Julie was born on March 8th, 1970 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Louis Allen Day and Dixie Rae Day while Allen was serving at the Kirtland Army Base.
Julie grew up in Ogden, Utah, and later moved to Torrance, California, where she raised her four children with devotion and great love. She hoped her children would find happiness and inspiration in the world around them.
Julie was a dedicated student throughout the many years of her studies, graduating high school with honors at Bonneville High in Ogden. She moved on to graduate with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Chamberlain University, graduating with high distinction. She worked as a Clinical Nurse Educator at UCLA Medical Center and planned to continue her education to obtain a Doctorate in Nursing. Julie was intellectually gifted and exceptionally dedicated to her career and ambitious in her career plans. She enjoyed lifelong learning and excelled in school throughout her years of studies. She proudly supported her family financially with great devotion throughout the many years she enjoyed with her children.
Julie lived a life of service to others and to her family. All our lives have been enriched by her presence.
Julie is survived by her four children and family: Joshua, Heather, Mikaela, Timothy, Curtis Gaspar, siblings Melanie Day, Nathan (Wendi) Day, Traci Day (Tom), Laurie (Scott) Robins, Doug (Brittney) Day, and her mother Dixie Day.
She was preceded in death by her father Allen Day and grandparents: Earl and Iduma Slagowski and Bob and Beth Hyde.
A celebration of life for Julie will be held Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 from 1 PM to 2 PM (Pacific Time) at Halverson-Stone & Myers Mortuary, 1223 Cravens Avenue, Torrance CA 90501.
