Mr. Wai-Tong Lam

It is with heavy hearts our family announce Mr. Wai-Tong Lam, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2020 with loved ones by his side at Hill House Hospice, Richmond Hill, ON in his 88th year.

Wai-Tong Lam was born in GuangDong province, China on April 20, 1931 and immigrated to Toronto, Canada from Hong Kong with his family in 1969. Along with his loving wife, worked tirelessly to raise a family of five children in Toronto and Stratford, ON before retiring in Thornhill, ON.

Beloved husband of Lan-Oy (née Lau) whom he was married to for 64 years. Respected father to Edward (Jan Woo), Wendy (Lonnie Haine), Julie (Richard Kung), Anne (Ron Cheung) and Dan (Eva Chew). Caring grandfather to Kristi & Alex Lam, Thomas (Victoria) & Anita Haine, Elliott & Avery Kung, Colin & Veronica Cheung, and Nathan, Michael & Andrew Lam.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Hill House Hospice for their dedicated, compassionate, and professional care of Wai-Tong Lam during his last days with us. In addition, the family would like to express appreciations to Dr. Kin Yee Woo, Dr. Victor Mak, Dr. Leonard C. Warner, and Dr. Chin K. Chung for all their outstanding professional health care services provided.

A private funeral service for family will be held at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, North York on Monday February 24 at 10 am. Private family interment will be at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
