He became passionate about long distance running later in life, completing his first marathon at age 48 and going on to run several more marathons including Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Detroit and Toronto among them. When he could no longer run due to knee problems, he replaced running marathons with “marathon-walks”, one every other weekend from spring to fall for many years.
Tom enjoyed crossword puzzles however once he discovered Sudoku it became his daily obsession solving puzzles daily. He also looked forward to his weekly visits to the pub with friends, which had been his tradition for many years.
