It is with great sadness that the family of Susan Janet (Ross) Shone announces that on August 26, 2024, in Toronto, at aged 81, Susan passed away peacefully at her home in Toronto, Ontario.
Susan lived a full and vibrant life marked by her passion for crafting and her enduring commitment to her family, friends and community. She held a career as a teacher, real estate broker, small business owner and a mother. A resident of Toronto, she frequently visited the Maritimes and Florida, where she had dear friends and family.
Susan was known for her creative spirit and her remarkable talent for quilting and crafting. She spent countless hours fashioning everything from sweaters to quilts, each piece a unique work of art, that told stories of love, family, and heritage.
Through her crafting communities, her travels, her extended family, her alma maters and her church, Susan’s extraordinary kindness, compassion and generosity extended to everyone she met, and she will be profoundly missed by her many dear friends, each of whom held a place in her heart.
Susan was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Peter B Shone, and her parents, Drs Murray and Janet Ross. She will be greatly missed by her four children, Jennifer, Stephen (Jennifer), Jim and Kelly; her loving brother Rob (Beverely) Ross, and her six grandchildren – Madison, Gavin, Rachel, Stella, Sandford and Owen whom she adored.
The family will be hosting a visitation on October 27th, 2024 from 2-4pm at Kane-Jarrett Funeral Home at 6191 Yonge Street. A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Monday October 28th, 2024, at 11am at St. John’s York Mills Anglican Church, where Susan was a devoted parishioner for most of her life.
