From Cabbagetown to Tinseltown and back!
After a series of battles with cancer through the last 20 years of her life she left us to rejoin sisters, Rose, Winnifred, brothers John, Art, Ray, Jim, Don and Wally. Sisters June, Flo and Betty will miss their sister along with husband Norm Quinn, sons Gary, (Lynda, Taylor & Paige) and Jeff, (Linda, Elise, Melissa, Samantha). As a child of English immigrants Lily Harrison and Walter Howes, her 86 ½ years were filled with family, love and laughter. She spoke fondly of receiving the Toronto Star Christmas Boxes. Like many of her generation they clung to family because they had little else. “No one had anything. Does that mean we were poor?” A common thread in stories told by families of the depression and WWII. Norm and Shirley were married close to 67 years. A Celebration of Life, with light refreshments, will be held at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. At 2:30 pm, the immediate family will begin sharing stories about the impact she had on their lives. Come to Celebrate a Life well lived. Feel her love and ensure that she would want the gift of laughter to be heard by all. Mom loved flowers. In lieu of a donation or cut flowers, please plant something in your garden and celebrate each day.
